Review on Dorman 265-813 Automatic Transmission Oil Pan - Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Compatible Models by Russell Robertson
Direct replacement - 4R70W transmission
Since Ford was good enough to make my truck so that my transmission oil could only be drained by draining the sump, I decided to try this option. I removed the pan, cleaned the rubber gasket and put this pan in place. The oil pan is bolted directly to my transmission, just like the stock transmission. No problems installing and seems to be working for now. I'll update this if there are any issues with the pan, but I suspect there won't be as I have the same pan on Expedition and haven't had any issues with it so far.
