For people who only use it for what I intended it for, my beard, use it on the first set up. DO NOT set it to 5 or more. It's still pretty hot at 1st. Leave one on, turn off for a minute. Just be careful when approaching the skin. If you have sensitive skin, it will definitely sting. Go through the knots like it's nothing. Straightened my beard in about a minute which reduced the time. This is the third straightener I use, the other two are actually beard straighteners. I would definitely recommend this one. Like I said, you only need it when you first set it up. The knobs are in an odd place because you can place your thumb there, but it's not difficult to adjust the grip either. All in all I would buy it again.
