Feels heavy. Tightly woven. Not very warm (compared to Dawn or newer synthetics) but good insulating. Heavy but not too bulky (considering the size). Definitely windproof. Haven't tried exposing it to snow yet but it feels "greasy" due to the lanolin so should be fine. The smell of lanolin may be unpleasant for some people, "it smells a bit like petrol", but it doesn't bother me personally. I use it on the patio by the fire - it works well for that purpose.
