Tried both these cables and DP to VGA adapters from the same company. I have a laptop dock with two DPs and one output and monitors with VGA inputs. Some (more expensive) adapters from Office Depot worked fine, but I tried these. and found that every time I turned on the screens or switched them to the VGA input, I would experience noise, squiggly lines, and other instabilities severe enough to render the monitor virtually unusable. Since I switch inputs frequently, this has also rendered the cables unusable. They would probably be fine in a static environment where there is no switching, but to me they were unacceptable. The same problem happened with the DP to VGA adapter keys, so it appears to be a bug in the chip the manufacturer uses to convert from DP to VGA. At least I paid an extra $10 for StarTech adapter cables and they work. perfect. If you don't need the same level of stability I do, or think your system isn't that finicky, that's probably fine and you can save $10. Otherwise, invest in a more reliable product and save yourself the headache.
