Over the last 40 years I've bought almost every knife known to man for various specialty purposes. Likewise, I have bought many different sharpeners from around the world to keep my various knives sharp and to sharpen the ones that need them. I can say without hesitation or reservation that of the 6 or 7 sharpeners I've bought just this year to take care of my knives, the SOG SH-02 countertop sharpener is by far the most consistent to provide a knife sharpening platform and the best results to achieve the greatest efficiency of action! It doesn't matter if the knife is sharpened for 200.00 plus handmade knives or the cheapest 1.00 knives from China or other places that make the cheapest knives. Simplicity works for me: a few taps with the sog platform to sharpen, and you can be assured that the knife being sharpened will cut the paper in a straight line, without snapping the previously dull pre-sharpening knife.
