I originally bought a set of these LEDs for a Christmas decoration but quickly realized how useful they can be for all sorts of other projects! They virtually take the guesswork out of driving RGB LEDs—no more running calculations, drivers, etc. Just free a GPIO pin and connect as many as you like! These LEDs are very bright and relatively well matched to each other. for each other. The correspondence between channels is slightly different (white 255 255 255 appears pink), but this may simply be due to the voltage drop across the string. Speaking of which, this LED string is quite power hungry, so make sure you have a suitable power supply that can supply at least 3A. Apparently the red and green channels in my chain were swapped compared to all my others. The WS2812B is based on LED strings, so this is something to keep in mind when writing code for them. Other than that, the rest of the process was pretty painless and they should work fine with any WS2812B software.
