. I've been using this SIIG NVME adapter for 7 months now and it works great. I'm using it to add a Samsung 970 EVO NVME to my Gigabyte z97n motherboard. That works great! Ubuntu Desktop 16 will boot to a login prompt in about 3 seconds (after the BIOS screen has appeared, of course). I already had the latest BIOS on the motherboard, so the NVME hardware was recognized by the BIOS and worked without any additional drivers or configuration. It used to take almost a minute to boot Ubuntu 16 with a 3.5 inch hard drive. I am very satisfied with the performance as well as the build quality of this SIIG NVME adapter. Samsung NVME fits perfectly with no issues during installation. I will buy another. Update: I bought another SIIG NVME and connected it to a Samsung 970 PRO NVME 512 SSD and installed Windows 10 from a USB stick. The initial phase of installing Windows 10 took about 10 minutes. After a reboot I completed the rest of the installation/configuration in about another 10 minutes. in less than 10 seconds and applications start almost immediately. This is a fantastic improvement over the typical spinning platter hard drive. e Mac computers running Mac OS High Sierra. This card works great with Apple computers and operating systems.
