Replacement for Mepla Match with slight modification.

My cabinets use Mepla Match hinges and plinths. The base is attached to the door, then the hinge is rotated and locked into place. I can't find her anywhere. Base plate: 346.290 4/00 Hinge: 652.221.70.00. After several days of searching and with no help from any vendors on the internet, I decided to give it a try. Works great with the Minor Mod. First remove the door. Press the Mepla locking tab and unscrew the hinge from the base. Remove the two small screws holding the base plate. DO NOT try to tear off the base plate. Use a vibrating multi-tool with a thin wooden blade to cut off the base of the plastic pins holding the panel in place. Tilt up slightly to avoid damaging the door. Now drill a hole in the remaining plastic dowel. Drill through dead center and continue until you feel the drill go through the other side of the dowel. Be careful not to go through the door. Now press this loop tight and insert the screws into the holes. You'll have to lean a little to go the distance, but she'll straighten up. Use a bit large enough when drilling a dowel small enough to hook the screw. If you use a bit that is too small, the dowel will break and spin freely as you insert the screws. Dowels are also available from Revain, but good luck retrieving your old matches. This worked for me.
