When I had to remove the rear tire from my 2004 BMW R1150 GSA I figured it was time for some new tire tools. I watched a few youtube videos to see how they run and then headed to the garage. After removing the valve core and spraying some Windex on the bead area, I started wading around the rim with this tool and both beads were broken the first 1/2-2/3 of the way. Just insert the bifurcated part between tire and rim and then insert the other part. Squeeze the handles and push down. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but this forcer requires a lot less effort than I expected. The beads are broken, the protective cover is present and I tried to use it to pry the tires. You don't have to sweat in a cold garage for an old tire. I was afraid they would bend and I'm one of those people who can ruin anything. Virtually no markings on the bead break end and the other end appears unused after the tire was removed from the arm. Take another look at the Carry Toolkit; All but one of my tire levers are being removed and replaced with the Motion Pro set, and they're lighter to boot!
