Overall I've never been impressed with anything like this BUT

MY GARAGE: I have a small 2 car garage that can be hidden under the house. So it can be considered insulated, it's 18 x 18 with 8 foot ceilings and insulated garage doors. I live in New England. Still, it gets very cold in space anyway. QUALITY: I build machines for a living and I personally stick to the old school of quality. Everything made in the US in the 50's was well built. Of course, those times are over, in general, something like that never impressed me, BUT. I admit I was pleased with the quality of this unit, just the right thickness for the case, the mount was nice and solid and so on. It arrived in perfect condition. PRICE: I'd like to see this device just under the $200 mark, just my opinion. NOISE: It's certainly not quiet, but you can have a conversation with someone without raising your voice if you're standing next to them. Overall: This unit is clearly a bit larger than I need for my garage size, but I chose it for this reason (you should never go undersized), it will take the garage from 45 to 68 in under half an hour. a few minutes OPERATING EXPENSES: I haven't seen the bill yet, but I have electricity. trivial "spot" heaters in other parts of the house and used electricity calculators. This 5000w unit works estimated. say 2.5 hours per day (with breaks throughout the day) multiplied by your price per kWh. And here in New England, we're dealing with rising electricity prices right now. but i buy at the best prices 5000 watts X 2.5 hours usage X 0.1199 kWh = (about 1.50 per day / $48 per month) it's worth it, my garage is my business.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
