Review on RCA Amplified Antenna Discontinued Manufacturer by Kathy Jones

Got all the channels I need

I recently bought a new HDTV and with a $60/month cable TV subscription only for the basic 'extended' option without the box I see wanted, can I get enough channels in the air to satisfy me. I live halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago. I tried this indoor amplified RCA antenna and got over 40 channels from the combined Milwaukee/Chicago area. With the exception of CBS, which I only get from Milwaukee, I can get all major stations and most local stations from both regions. I was most concerned about getting PBS, but I get it from both areas as well. I also tried the GE 24775 Quantum HDTV internal antenna as I really liked the design aesthetically, but I didn't get any Milwaukee channels with this antenna, meaning no CBS. So it had to be returned. Yes, this antenna requires some fiddling, but no more than any other indoor antenna. The cable length is not a problem for me as it fits my TV (60 inch DLP). I'm very happy with it and am now saving $700 a year on cable, which will pay for my TV in two years. I never would have thought of that before my HDTV showed up as the channels tended to snow, but the new technology is great! My HDTV channels are clearer than cable! (I think I could buy a digital set-top box and HDTV package, but then my bill would go up somewhere between $80 and $100 a month.)
