In the end I couldn't decide which of the two products to choose and realized that fate had led me to buy the Dry , when I wanted / ordered 5SR (oiled version). According to the seller, there is no difference in performance; However, their website states that 5SR stands for more performance and Dry for more comfort. Installation was relatively easy except for 1 step which was somewhat omitted from the printed instructions and was unclear on aFe's YouTube video. Both explained how to perform this step but didn't mention how. The bonus of the product was two screws replacing the originals which I broke anyway. BMW originals were a flimsy link, while aFe made premium products - right down to the bolts. I can't yet assess the performance gain from less than 1,000 miles, but I can say that the difference in sound is worth it in and of itself. .
