I wanted to love it

Looks great on paper but is a big flop in real life. Total crap because I wanted to love him. I have 5 volunteer testers at home and this is how it went: Cons #1: When cats dig, litter is thrown up until the tray hits the edges of the lid. The connection isn't tight enough to prevent spilled debris from escaping, let alone urine leaking out when your cat "steps over" the height of the shallow pan. When you pull out the drawer-like pan to pick up, anything that hasn't already spilled will scatter or drip onto the floor. Cons #2: A one-way door valve sounds like a great idea until a bully cat sits on it. Boxing while his victim is inside and using the facilities. Cats that have never used a covered box with a door will not enter the box until you remove the door. When the damper is removed, debris easily exits the shallow bowl through the door. The bottom line is that, like most enclosed litter boxes, this one is for cat owners, not cats. Cons #3: There is no built-in trash collection system at the front door, which of course makes it a cheaper option. As explained above, you may need to remove the door flap to train your cat to enter the box. Then when all the trash is scattered, you need to put a trash mat by the front door. BUT you cannot pull out the pan as a drawer with a mat in front of it. So you have to buy a huge rug to get under everything. It might be possible to spend that extra money on a nicer device with a built-in waste bin.
