If you change your oil yourself, you should definitely think about buying it. No more fumbling around looking for the right size wrench or socket, simply remove the locking clip (if equipped) and twist the lever. Bought one of these for my GTI and also one for my wife's Mazda, both easy to install and leak free. Makes an already simple oil change almost trivial. The best part? In order not to burn yourself on hot oil, try to quickly unscrew the candle. Less spatter too. They've been on both cars for about a year and a half and no issues :) I've seen some reviewers complain about the sag depth under the car - it doesn't stick out much more than a stock bolt and my GTI is very low. Never even come close to scratch it on anything. If you share this concern, they make different shapes/orientations for most of their popular mounts so you can position them on the side of the car instead of angling them down. Even the standard can be unscrewed/tightened with a quarter turn to change the angle and still seal easily since it includes a gasket.
