The carpet is exactly as pictured. Love it for our guest bedroom; I want to move it to our master bedroom instead! I gave this rug 4 stars due to the gassy and "oily" feel, which I will explain. So the outgassing that occurs with many household items such as furniture, carpets, rugs, mattresses, printers, etc. is what I expected. I just didn't expect it to last as long as all the rugs and items I've bought in the past have had no outgassing after 24 hours. The "oiliness" of this carpet was initially only felt in the first two weeks. "Oily" is the best word I can think of to describe what I felt under my bare feet. I've vacuumed this rug multiple times and it only seemed to help. This rug has been sitting for 1.5 to 2 months now and I don't feel the particular "oiliness" that I felt when first unrolling it. I think the more this rug is walked on, the more it can help to 'break it down' and get rid of any weird feeling/tarp on that rug. Gas emission also decreased; it may have lasted a week in a very well ventilated area. I still love this rug and am glad I bought it. It's the perfect pile height, my Dyson glides right over it, I love how bold the print is and the price I paid for it is amazing! This is a great rug and all edges are cut straight with no defects in material or stitching.
