I bought these to use on my young rats to keep their claws down. For this purpose they work well. If you buy them for rodents they are smaller than I thought so I think they can outgrow them quickly. It would be fine for young rats, but adult rats probably won't. For rat use they are difficult to clean as they are wood and sandpaper but at this price you can buy new ones every few months. One of the ledges came with drop pins so cannot be attached to the wall. Instead of sending them all back, the seller offered a partial refund. In general, rats are not afraid.
