Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Marttiini Arctic Carving Knife: Superior Performance in One Size by Matthew Richards

good knife.: Carving knife

I was looking for a carving knife that worked well and looked good and that's when I came across Marttiini. This model is almost perfect for me. The knife came SHARP, every part of the blade. Crafted from a beautiful piece of curly birch, the handle features a neutral design that makes it easy to grip in a variety of ways. For my XL hands, the handle is long enough to fully grip it. The sheath fits like a glove and is made of good leather. In conclusion I would like to say that I doubt I could find better value for money for any other knife. I qualify that statement by saying that the handle of this knife would grace many knives costing many times that. Well, I was about to stop, but I just have to address the misconception of the patina on Marttinni blades. This knife is made of carbon steel and carbon steel will not rust. For this knife, they decided to mitigate this issue in two ways. First forced patina and second mirror polishing to scandi polishing. Is the patina functional on the blade I received? YES SIR. Is the aesthetic perfection of the patina worth displaying under a glass jar? NO. Having patinated several knives, I can tell you that it can take several hours and several tries to get a nice patina. I hope that was enough :)
