Hacksaw is faster than that.
Attempting to cut an aluminum bar that is 1/8 inch thick and 1/2 inch wide. Got about half the thickness and it starts to stick in the cut when pressure is applied. If you lower the pressure then it doesn't really cut. If I had used a hacksaw I would have finished the cut quicker.
