Great tool for light materials and artists but not farm tools or 4x4s

Thing is handy and I think it's great for non-secure welding and fastening. I would not use it for farm implement hooks or trailer mounts. The reason is that it's pretty cold ethyl. I used it (of all things) to attach pendants and handles. A small charge, so that's fine with me. . . like, something like. Like everyone, I'm used to 240 volt heat and holes if I'm not careful. Here's a HOT TIP: Weld like you're trying to make a hole! I've found this to be the only way to get decent penetration - I just blow as hot as I can (speed 4 with .35 FluxCore). Beginner: This is a great machine, but don't be discouraged - your welds will look better. If you can get a hotter 240v welder, this is the perfect welder for an artist or anyone using thin materials. Note: Revain's "buy recommendation" was a 2lb spare wire spool, but it was .30, the wrong size. And the instruction manual says to use a 1 pound spool, which is practically nowhere sold. I used a spare .35lb spool and the welder had no problems with it. A while. I just went to my local filler metal supplier. Just be careful what you order - it's important that you get the correct size replacement wire. Enjoy. I'm glad I bought this unit, but I would buy the next, larger one if I had the opportunity to return it.
