This may have been the underlying problem but according to our vet it is very difficult to determine why either cat started spraying. Promises to reduce this behavior with this product were not realized with our cat. Even after following the letter's instructions, including subsequent uses due to repeated marking/spraying by our cat, and including adding a second bowl elsewhere (while leaving the original in place), this product did nothing to stop further marking to reduce. Our vet prescribed some medications which we administered daily which seemed to stop the unwanted behavior. This should by no means be a reason not to try this product as any cat problem can be caused by many different factors. This may or may not work for your problem. There's no harm in trying a bottle.
