With full disclosure, I didn't get this for a JBL Extreme 3 but for another speaker of a similar size and shape so while I can't comment on JBL speaker compatibility I can say it is somewhat this size will fit. And that it's a good hard shell - strong and sturdy with a (reasonably) soft outer layer that protects the inside and doesn't cause rejection on the outside. The carry handle and strap are strong enough to withstand the expected strain, while an additional pocket is handy for cords and more. All in all a good buy if you have a JBL Extreme 3 (or something similar in size and shape) to protect.
