I purchased three hexagonal ice cream molds at a time from different vendors. I wanted different sizes of hex ice cream and this was the largest I could find. Overall, the construction is solid, making the large blocks definitely suitable for an old-fashioned or other low-dilution cocktail. The material seems thick and strong enough to withstand repeated use, and the ice deforms relatively well. Unfortunately I can't give five stars as there are some significant design flaws. The mold has a single flat bottom panel with dividers instead of separate ice pockets. This leads to a significant reduction in the rigidity of the walls. This may not be a problem with smaller cubes, but these larger ones often result in an elongated shape with curved sides. Also, due to the lack of separate pockets, a lot of work is required to get the ice out of the tray. When it works properly, it works fine, but be prepared to crush/throw 1/3 to 1/2 of the ice. if you are looking for the perfect shape.
