I'm happy to report that these wine corks really work. I ran some tests to make sure. The first was to take a bottle of freshly opened red wine and stopper it with one of these corks for 4 days to see how it would taste after a few days of inactivity. After 4 days, the flavor profile stayed true to its original flavor and didn't have that acidic, whitewashed taste that normally occurs with wine that has been exposed to air for too long. Pump it to see if it bends the plastic bottle. This proves that he sucked the air out of the bottle. I used a plastic coke bottle because it's stiffer than a regular plastic water bottle and I thought it would show off the suction power of the pump. I'm happy to report that it actually sucked the air out of the coke bottle as shown in my video attached to this review. This took a few more nudges than a regular plastic water bottle, but it shows it has some pulling power. I'm sure they do the job you would expect them to do and they look really nice on a bottle of wine, so A+ for their nice finish and design.
