Stops working after a few uses - Bad power cords

I've tried small battery powered models before and they were rubbish so I was happy to pay more in the hope that the Sunbeam powered model would be better. The Sunbeam razor worked great the first few times I used it, no problems. Then winter ended and the razor was put away until next year when my sweaters were warned they needed to be shaved again. After only a few operations this winter, the power went out. It turned off when I tilted the razor one way or the other. It also slowed down and tried to lock up when I tilted it more vertically - I had to tilt it sideways more to get it to work. at full power. But even that didn't last more than a few tries before the thing died completely. I think the engine is technically still fine, but some sensor just prevents it from working. I was wondering if maybe I got one with a defect - that happens from time to time so it's no big deal. However, I've seen several other reviews with the same issue - meaning this is a recurring issue for this item. It's an expensive item (for a sweater razor) so there's no real excuse for such poor workmanship. The worst thing is that I only own a few sweaters, so the sweater shaver is rarely used. Although it started to break after only about 5 uses, by my 6th or 7th use it was already out of warranty. wrong, and I realized that the problem is in the power cord itself. Holding the shaver perfectly still and ONLY bending the cord in different directions will give the motor different power (most of the time it doesn't get any power at all, but bending in certain directions gives it power and increases it with a bend.) New power cord, will probably work again. One more thing. If you look for other electric razors you will notice several brands that look 100% identical to this one with the only visible difference being the markings (e.g. Smartek, Oreck, Surround Air). These other brands are usually half the price of Sunbeam. Sunbeam is a Smartek company so I'm wondering if Sunbeam, Smartek and other 'brands' are really made on the same assembly lines and then just put a different label on them. If so, then that literally means you're paying for the name.
