Fluid Bed Filter Test

I got this to try a new tank that I've been cycling on but it hasn't really improved cycle times so I'm not sure what it does for me. I installed two tanks, one with a sponge filter and a fluidized bed filter, the other with two sponges. All sponge filters were the same size, one tank had one filter and the other two. The two-sponge filter tank was cycled two days earlier than the fluid bed filter tank. Thus, one tank had a bacterial colony that could convert ammonia and nitrite to nitrite earlier than the other tank, indicating the environment was not easy. for bacterial colonization. I'll have to try two of these, I'll have to see how they perform long term to remove nitrates, but I think I'll get another medium before doing another test. I like that the body of this product is well made, the suction cups are good, it is easy to take apart, the color is nice too.
