Bought this for my office as I needed good bright overhead lighting when working from home. The lamp is much smaller than I expected and the bulbs mostly hit the sides of the lampshade. I had Philips low profile LED bulbs so I wasn't concerned about the heat generated by the bulb, but if you are using incandescent bulbs the heat generated by the bulbs can be an issue and you may want to use a different light fixture . Installation was pretty easy and I did it myself. It definitely provided good lighting for my use, but I wish it had a shade/diffuser at the bottom to hide the bulbs and give it a more sophisticated look. Without it and due to its small size, it looks cheap. I returned it and bought a round light which was much larger with a screen at the bottom, offers the same brightness and looks more expensive.
