I'm 100% sure it will last. I was initially a bit skeptical about the plastic pulleys and guides but after actually getting my hands on them they turned out to be of high quality. The deflection pulleys live up to their name "Stealth" and are very quiet. I only put an end to it because the lock nuts fell out of the base plates about 10 times during the assembly attempt. In the end I had to glue them on with super glue. Every time this happened I had to rethread the wire through my kayak and of course I used a few colorful words during this setup.
