Brackets work well
Speaker brackets install easily in blocks and ceiling rafters. The speakers were easy to attach as well, and the ball joint keeps my speakers secure even at an angle (although my speakers only weigh about 5 pounds). I think most of the cost of the mounts goes into providing £4 of hardware for every possible mounting method, so be prepared to throw away (or save) a big bag of brackets, screws, etc.
