I bought this set for a Jet 8" Desktop Buffer but they will not fit 5/8" shank. The mounting hole is too small. I can get the pads to "screw" onto the threads, but there is no way to get the pads to attach to the mandrel. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are usable with mandrel and threaded washers. Also, I don't expect them to last very long. The first pad was already badly degraded after about 30 minutes of use on a 4 inch stainless steel rod. The first liner keeps dropping clumps of rope to the ground as it breaks apart. The bottom line is, don't buy them for a desktop buffer. with 5/8" mandrels they will not fit and you should not install spacers.
