100% MERINO WOOL DOES NOT MEAN 100% MERINO WOOL!

Let me start by saying I'm no newbie to wool. In fact, the photos I've posted compare this hat to some of the best merino wool base layers you can buy in a similar weight. Anyone who has had clothing made from real wool, merino or not, knows that this is not a stretchy material and doesn't hold its shape well, so it needs to be reshaped after washing and laid flat to dry, so manufacturers add a stretch fabric, like z like Eslatin to help him stay in shape when needed. This hat is very stretchy and feels stretchy but is advertised as 100% wool. In fact, you will see from my photos that my Ullfrotté Original 200gsm hat, which currently sells for $124 each, is thicker than this hat, which is advertised as a heavier 230gsm material (pictured are two Layers to see (top) and 4 layers (cap)). In the first picture both products are side by side. The second image shows the weight of the Ullfrotté original, the third image shows the thickness comparison between the two. Like any other reversible hat, it consists of an inner and outer layer, for a total of four layers in a horizontal position. I believe this company is intentionally misleading when they say it is 100% merino wool. In my opinion, this phrase means that 100% merino wool is used and not that the fabric is exclusively 100% merino wool. There is a big difference between them. Based on my experience I think there are other materials in the final product besides wool and I don't think it's a negligible amount. I tested this product by placing it on my head and standing outside for five minutes in 25°F and a light breeze. Not so cold for wool. At the end of this test my head was very cold and I put on my regular acrylic jersey. hat and stood there for another five minutes. My head/ears got warm even though the hat had the benefit of coming from a warm home.
