Back in 2012 I bought a Makita BHP454 LXT 1/2 inch 18V lithium-ion cordless hammer drill. I really liked him. What a surprise, the top speed is much higher, the speed control is just as smooth, the barrel is shorter for some reason, but they still have my favorite hammer, torque settings for screws and a normal lock for drill settings. (The bonus was 2 original Makita 5AH batteries and a new charger). I've been using it extensively for a few weeks now and I think I'm liking it even more. The shorter body sometimes comes in handy in tight spaces (I've been doing a lot of furniture assembly lately). Would definitely recommend and maybe buy more to give to my sons. Good product.
