I come from the Mediterranean region, where it is customary to wash with a washcloth. Not soft finished and/or woven as is often the case in western cultures and here in the USA. The washcloth we use is damp and thoroughly dried. We then split it right down the middle and use the cut surface to rub across her skin. Sounds painful, I know, and it is, especially during and a few days after the first application. So, and with what, most residents of the Middle East and the Mediterranean wash themselves, even from early childhood. I've never liked wearing a new loofah for the first time, I've always been afraid of the overly prickly feeling of it. So now to this product here, it's perfect. Feels like a perfectly fitting washcloth from the first use. It's also much more convenient to use because this thing has handles to scrub your back thoroughly, it's HUGE! I've tried many loofah substitutes here and while many of them have been relatively good as far as loofah substitutes go, this is what I want in life, I like it way better than raw loofah! hp If you are unfamiliar with the feel of natural, untreated loofah, it is very stiff and still relatively scratchy after being broken. This is as close as I can accurately describe what this synthetic version is like. If you want the feel of a sponge or regular washcloth, this is definitely not for you.
