My First Puncher - I'm a believer

Although I can't compare different rodents as this is my first I had a great experience with this one. I can't believe I went so long without it. Things that used to require a lot of measuring, marking, drilling, dremelling, etc. are now fairly easy to do. For example, make a square hole for an IEC socket in the back panel. This won't work on very thick metal - better leave that to a professional if you want nice results. I find it difficult to say exactly what size due to differences in strength at a given thickness of different metals. Roughly speaking: The rear panel of your center chassis booster is not a problem. A thick front panel will not work. Buy one anyway, even if your current use case doesn't fit it, and toss it in your desk drawer for a rainy day. If you are a handyman, there will come a time when this will be a real find. The only caveat is if you have arthritis as the mechanism requires a lot of hand strength to "bite off". If the manufacturer is listening, adding thick rubber grips makes a world of difference.

Pros
  • When you squeeze the handles, the punch enters the channel and cuts out a piece of metal.
