The best way to describe it is yes. I did a lot of pre-purchase research and read reviews on many different options before deciding on this one. At first it was very easy to assemble and quite basic but then it's not anymore. Another reviewer posted a video of a huge gap between the connecting tubes, I also included a not so good photo of it. They seem to connect. You definitely need two people and a lot of strength to get them to connect halfway. Even when a few people tried, we couldn't get it to work for many. Not such a big deal when assembled because they're pretty stuck lol. Haven't tried taking it off yet so we'll see how it goes, although I'm scared? Being able to stand upright and with weight…. Spring…. Maybe a scale will help? I'd say place him against a wall and/or tie him down in addition to weights if possible. He rocks like the slightest hardness. It's not shiny gold either, more of a mustard gold. I would say it's perfect for indoor events, probably won't like it at a windy outdoor event. As an event decorator I always find a way, I just wish it wasn't necessary.
