Review on πŸ”§ Efficient and Silent Aquarium Fish Tank Canister Filter HW-602 with Pump - Table Mute External Filters Bucket by Alexandra Baker

Great filter amplifier, incredible price

This is an incredible price. Other reviewers are wrong as this is not and is not advertised as a separate filter. Offline filter - hw602b. I use it as an amp/pre-filter with my Penn-plax Cascade 1200. It holds all of my mechanically filled sponges - cork, medium, fine, and filter floss in that order. The bottom plastic screen/riser allows me to use some ceramic pre-filter rings on the bottom to catch heavy debris from the water intake. This filter works in concert with my 1200 stage and doesn't affect flow much, just reduces it a little. This setup allows 2 things: 1. I can open this canister and easily clean my sponges as needed without digging to the bottom of my large canister or disturbing my biological media, and 2. It allows me to add another 1.5kg of media to put in my 1200 (I use Biohome Ultimate). My water is crystal clear, especially when using the above mechanical medium (I have the famous dirty turtle). Thanks to ponguru for the experimental setup idea - it works great! The sponges that come with the kit are mediocre, but I always like thinner sponges. I recommend ltwhome sponges and cut to size. I also recommend hw602 instead of hw603 because 603 reduces flow more due to larger size. I'm thinking of buying a second one to use as a bioreactor for nitrazorb or activated charcoal by adding my powerhead. Excellent value for money and quality.
