Wow! Be careful now! fits knife sharpener

I've always been a manual whetstone since I started sharpening knives as a kid. Time is short lately and my knives just got dull because I didn't have time to get it right so I didn't do it at all. I finally decided to do some chores and get this electric sharpener. After unboxing I read the instructions as the manual is very clear on what to do as many reviews do. I grabbed one of the kitchen knives, spent about 2 minutes and voila! pretty sharp. I got another one, worked on it for a while and was able to make S-shaped cuts on a sheet of paper with no problem. "Sharp enough for a government job", huh? Then I got a big chef's knife and worked on it for a while, and when it was done I put the blade aside and gently squeezed the blade between my thumb and forefinger to wipe off a small amount of metal dust, like I'd done a million times, and Blood began to flow from my thumb. *^%$*&& Okay, VERY hard. I even wrapped the handles in red tape before putting them back in the carving block so my wife would know "something's changed now". Taking extra care, I landed on my EDC Benchmade with a good lead, which took a little longer (5-6 minutes) but still MUCH better than I started. I am very satisfied with this device. Next time I'm going to try some of my tanto/15 degree knives, but this time I'm not going to.
