Looks solid enough

What do you call an off-leash Shiba Inu? AWAY. My dog is cute but a runner. To make matters worse, she loves chasing deer in the woods and running behind my house, and is a much more experienced runner than I am. After chasing her Nth time, my wife wanted to try and put an Apple AirTag on her so we could find her, so this collar fitted the bill perfectly. Like others, I'm not an "Apple guy" so I made the Air Tag on the white side without the logo. You can also place a round personalized pendant there. I see some people have complained about their Apple Tag being lost and this is easily remedied by putting a Locktite screw lock in the screw. Some leaked and I wiped them completely. I don't know how well the tracking will work, but since Apple has taken over the phone ecosystem, I imagine it's better than other Bluetooth tracking options. I have a working iPhone and if they take it away from me I can probably buy my nephews and nieces a cheap iPad to play with. The ring seems comically large, but it's part of the design where the buckle goes through. It does not bother me. My dog had no problems when I put the collar on. In fact, she practically pranced toward the door. Though perhaps hoping to escape again, she immediately checked the strength of the collar. The fur on her neck rises, but it has something to do with her fluffiness, and we don't collar her at home, so they're all like that. Small is still big enough and strong enough. I measured and used the size chart before ordering. We'll take it through the usual "Want to?" routine and I'll update if I run into any issues. So far, so good.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
