I am by no means a professional welder. I have used this wire in the past as well as two pound spools. This time I ordered a 2lb coil for my 110v Forny and a 10lb coil for my 240v Hobart Beta Mig which I got for free. I struggled and struggled to set up the Hobart - it welded well for a few minutes and then started breaking the wire (e.g. the feed rate was too high) or punching holes in the metal (e.g. the voltage was too high). Eventually I got pissed and switched back to my forny and went back to welding like I had an idea of what I was doing, no problem. I thought the problem was with Hobart as I didn't have much experience with it. When the 2lb reel ran out, I switched the 10lb reel from Hobart to Forney - and exactly the same Forney problems started! It usually boils for 5-10 minutes and suddenly everything flies to hell! I eventually started feeding 2-3 feet of wire whenever that happened and then I was able to get good welds again for a few minutes until I hit another bad MIG wire spot. I'm assuming I just have a bad/inconsistent wire. I can understand screwing up a bit with the Hobart - it's an old machine and definitely questionable, but the Forny brewed well until I ran out of the smaller coil. I probably won't buy this again just because it's very important for a $70 product to hit or miss =(
