This is a good damascus knife with a slightly simpler damascus pattern than some other knives recently made in China. . These are much better than the plastic or rubber handles that come with cheap Walmart knives, but they are much stronger and more durable than any wooden handle. Protection at the base of the blade. Personally, I'm not thrilled with this feature, but I think many will find it useful.
