Worst AM reception I have ever experienced from a portable radio. Seriously, the AM frequency is comically bad, like it's some kind of sick joke on behalf of the manufacturer. Design level incompetence or cost cutting are the only logical explanations I can think of as to why it couldn't work that way. Only one station on the AM dial in my area does a good job of this insane atrocity, but it entirely depends on where I am geographically; If I drive up a hill or near a metropolitan area all bets will be void. If I'm on level ground with no other interfering electronic stimuli within a few miles, this one station can, if I'm lucky, run static-free for a few minutes. Additionally, the strap's design is bulky and gobbles up batteries with incredible ease. When I finally find a quality replacement for the portable radio, I'm going to ceremoniously smash the thing with a sledgehammer. In fairness, the FM was exponentially better, but as someone who bought it almost exclusively for AM use, my scathing criticism and low star rating are warranted.
