This was a replacement for a 30 year old Oster blender that started to work when making smoothies. I've read so many mixer reviews and decided on where to start. It's like a basic 2-speed blender, especially compared to our old 10-speed Easter. But the engine, wow! NASA was able to harness this power in the 60's. Some reviews were concerned that the unit was emitting engine smell, ours did too for the first 2 or 3 sessions. That's what the new motors do when the brushes are in place. no more smell The blender jar, lid, blades, etc. have the same specs as our old Easter, so we now have two jugs ready. Water in the blender after the smoothie to pre-clean the blades, this should have been done on an old oyster many years ago. The device is said to be designed for 10,000 smoothies, so it can only be used for 30 years, but I'm happy to accept that.
