I have studied this speaker a lot and for the price it is the best. It sometimes has excessive bass boost at lower volumes, but to put it into endurance or bass reduction mode (I've seen it called both) by holding down the "Volume Down" and "Bluetooth" buttons for 10 seconds long press. helps a lot also having an equalizer for whatever you use to play when listening to podcasts is a plus too. It gets loud for its size, and any size other than the JBL Party Box, and it's pretty clear that the bass accommodates, rather than distorts, at higher volumes. I also had a JBL Onyx 5 and it's louder, and the Onyx only has a mono speaker (although it mimics stereo well), it's significantly better. I've never gotten it too wet in the shower and it turned out not to be a problem, in fact it's loud enough to be in another room while I'm in the shower and I do it without can hear problems.
