At first I simply opened the packaging. It came in a not very big box. I took it out, placed it on a table in the garage, and sliced it open, expecting to get that awful smell that some reviewers were reporting. It practically didn't smell. I put my nose to it, sniffed it, and the only smell I caught was just a hint of that "cloth smell" that new car seats have. I measured the mattress and found it a bit small for a queen. I measured it at about 56" x 68" x 4", which is a little smaller than advertised. When I put it on the rail of my sofa bed, it did have gaps all the way around, but I could live with that. The comfort was improved over the 21st the thin summer spring mattress that came with the sleeper sofa I could still feel the support rail underneath this is partly due to the support mat flexing a little under the bed and sagging on either side of the crossbar.
