We have a UTK Far Infrared heating pad that we had to use when traveling around Europe. With normal use, we turn on the heating pad when we go to bed and it works for 4 hours, after which it turns off automatically. But it is rated for 90-120V and 50/60Hz so we needed a travel voltage converter so we could use the heating pad in Europe. Using my Kill-A-Watt device, I measured the heating pad's power draw at 75 watts, 1 amp. Searching the web I found a Ceptics unit with specs to match our heating pad and lots of safety features to prevent overheating etc. The Ceptics voltage converter worked like a dream! No problems and the device didn't even get warm. Once I got comfortable with the device, I started using the USB ports to charge our electronic devices. And again everything worked perfectly!
