I bought the small 5/8 width fearing anything wider would choke my 14 lb dog. He was on the line in terms of neck sizes (he could have been small or medium according to the chart), but the small size suits him perfectly, with a bit of wiggle room to boot. It's cute and my dog says he'll wear it without trying to rip it off so two big paws from both of us. This is his first collar and he seems very comfortable in it and I really like the locking mechanism. Ignore his awkward look in photos - this is his signature pose for the camera. He is currently curled up and sleeping with the collar on so I know he is happy with it.
