I bought this as a replacement Garmin Drive Luxe 50LMTHD mount. The mount is the same as the GPS device and has the same magnetic mount. The car holder consists of two parts. Curved magnetic clasp that holds the GPS and windshield suction cup mount. The windshield suction cup mount is the same part used on previous Garmin GPS units. I mainly use this adapter in another vehicle like a rental car. In other vehicles, I connect the magnetic snap that holds the GPS to either a Garmin friction mount or a Garmin wearable friction mount - a disappointment-free package. Power adapter note: This mount and the 50LMTHD use the same mini-USB connector as previous Garmin models. Devices like the 3790. BUT: Older power supplies do not support the 50LMTHD traffic feature. Even though Garmin says there is a traffic antenna built into the 50LMTHD, you still need a new power supply like Garmin's 10-24v 2 amp car power cable to get traffic working.
