for the price I hope it will last several years, but mine died after a year of use. Maybe I have a defective pump. It works great while it's working, but it's not as quiet as I would hope and makes a whining noise when it's pacing. Updated May 4, 2014 It turned out that the fuse on my unit was blown and after replacing it the pump is working fine. So I updated my values. Update September 13, 2014 I haven't used the pump for months and now it's not working. Maybe the fuse again. Those tiny 1W fuses are hard to come by, so I don't recommend this pump unless you have easy access to the fuses you need.
