Review on Efficient SunSun HW-3000 UV 9W 🌞 Canister Filter with 5-Stage Filtration - 793gph, White by Brittney Merrill

I have replaced the SunSun HW-404B with this new model as the fans in my previous unit have almost disappeared in the last 3 years. Setting up this new one was very easy, and removing the main knob and adding separate intake and exhaust valves is a nice touch. This makes refilling very easy. Both the input and output nodes in this device are much better than in their older models. The ability to run at different speeds and set the UV light on a schedule were much-needed features, so they're appreciated. It comes with many options. for the way you spray the water and also for the many hoses. I installed this on a 135G tank and cut 30% off each of the two tubes that came with it and was able to get to either side of the tank with ease. The actual parts inside the unit appear to be standardized as they use the exact same bowls and bowl covers as the older 304 and 404 models. This means you can also use whatever filter pads you have if you upgrade the system, without buying new ones. My biggest issue with this unit is that the water flow is much less than 793 gallons per hour. Even with the device set to 6, I'm lucky enough to get half its rated flow. The water coming out is slightly larger than my Fluval U4 which is only 260 gallons per hour. The high flow rate was one of the main reasons I bought this to go from 3 filters to 1, but unfortunately I won't be able to do that.
