Review on DVKNM Upgrade Backup Camera Monitor Kit by Adam Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value, quality. Note the 4 pin video connector

I bought 2 of these connectors for my Class B motorhome. One is front mounted and acts as a traditional backup camera when I hitch or tow a trailer. Another mounts above the bed at the back and provides security - the ability to 'see' the outside at night when a priceless item is moored. Just note that this device has a 4-pin video connector, not the standard 2-wire RCA connector found on most camcorder monitors. You can buy the adapter here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCT41GM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The overall quality and completeness of the kit you receive is commendable. The monitor can be mounted in a plastic case as shown in the attached images or with the supplied wing mount and adhesive pad or 4 screws provided. Here is how I installed the front of the RV. The great thing is that the main monitor connector is slightly larger than the diameter of the cable, while the video and power are behind the connector. This allows the monitor to be removed from the flush mount and the cable routed to a comfortable viewing position. I have 4 cameras connected to it with video splitter cables. Turn on the driver or passenger camera on the monitor's V1 channel, or turn on the car-installed rear view camera or trailer rear camera on the V2 channel. The instructions are what you would expect from this type of product but if you have used a rear view camera/monitor before you will be familiar with the setup. I highly recommend this monitor.
