What I liked was the length of all the wires. It was easy for me to escape the heat. Route the cables under the engine cover. I secured it with heavy duty external velcro. I tied the white wire tightly to the ground stud on the motor. I wrapped the red wire around the wire attached to the spark plug five times. The instructions say not to wrap the wire more than 5 or 6 times or you may receive erroneous signals causing the clock to read incorrectly. Just in case, I've wrapped most of the wires in 3M high-temp electrical tape, and on top of that it adds another layer of protection against nicks or cuts when I'm mowing around the house. You can see how I first started the lawn mower and the hour meter reading along with the wires wrapped around it. You can't change the batteries, which is very bad. I think that's the case with most hour meters sold by Revain, at least in this price range.
